Joe Biden on Monday, May 9, signed the law on Lend-Lease for Ukraine. The House of Representatives adopted the document on April 28.

Now the US President will receive expanded powers on defense assistance to Ukraine. The states will be able to supply weapons, transport and food under a simplified procedure.

The last time the Lend-Lease law was adopted during the Second World War. Then the States supplied weapons to Europe and helped the Allied countries to overcome the Nazis.

Sergei Grabsky, a military analyst, said that Ukraine could use the weapons obtained through Lend-Lease in the summer.

Note! The US House of Representatives voted for Lend-Lease for Ukraine with a devastating result. “For” – 417 votes. “Against” – only 10. After the vote, the State Special Communications Service emphasized that the corresponding decision of the States clearly indicates who is good and who is evil in this war.

Reznikov's statement

Lend-Lease is proof that the States believe in Ukraine's victory over the Russian invaders. The corresponding statement was made by Alexei Reznikov, Minister of Defense.

In fact, the United States wants to become Ukraine's partners in its victory over Russia. According to Reznikov, when the United States went to war against Hitler during World War II, it changed the course of history. Then Winston Churchill persuaded the United States to provide assistance. President Volodymyr Zelensky did this in 2022.

Zelensky on Lend-Lease

The Ukrainian leader said that the Lend-Lease law will help Ukraine and the countries of the free world overcome the ideological heirs of the Nazis. Zelensky stressed that he is grateful to Biden and the US Congress for this help in the fight against the Russian occupiers.

The President called lend-lease proof that today freedom can defend itself against tyranny.

Note ! Ambassador Andrey Melnik called on Germany to follow the United States in adopting a law on lend-lease. He noted that the Ukrainian army needs: 88 Leopard tanks, 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled howitzers.
