UK Defence Secretary John Hilley has announced new military aid for Ukraine and announced a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's defence, known as the Ramstein format, scheduled for July.
UK military aid aimed at strengthening air defense
“Tomorrow you will hear from the British Prime Minister a further announcement about UK assistance aimed at strengthening air defences. Next month there will be a meeting of the UDCG where Rustem, Boris Pistorius and I will try to reform the UDCG so that it can work with NSATU and NATO, but with the aim of long-term support for Ukraine and coordinating existing coalitions,” Gilley said on Tuesday at the NATO Public Forum in The Hague.
The minister stressed that it is now important not to forget about the war, despite the lack of signs of its imminent end.
He stressed that peace is still far away, and therefore “we have no right to jeopardize it by ignoring the war.” The main task, according to Gilley, is to support Ukraine and strengthen its defense capabilities in the confrontation with Russia.

Recall that on June 23, President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed in London to launch a joint defense initiative. The parties confirmed their readiness to cooperate in the production of weapons to strengthen Ukraine's defense.
The NATO summit continues in The Hague. The meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the Alliance's Secretary General Mark Rutte in the World Forum premises.
