One of the most influential figures in the US Democratic Party, former secretary of state and former first lady of the country, Hillary Clinton, met with members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
CFR is often called the shadow government of the United States: this organization, which celebrates its centenary this year, is not without reason credited with having secret levers of influence on the country's foreign and domestic policy. The Council includes virtually all of the most influential American politicians and businessmen.
Of course, Clinton was asked about her reaction to the first interview of the incumbent US President Joe Biden, which he gave to the ABC channel, which was followed by an invitation of the Russian ambassador to Moscow for consultations.
The former secretary of state tried to be as diplomatic as possible, but at the same time very optimistic:
– Yes, it was a signal … But I'm sure this is not the end of the conversation. The hard work must begin, behind closed doors. We will determine what we need to do, on what problems to work together.
Clinton also added that diplomacy should not turn into a TV show. At the same time, she identified not Biden as the culprit for such transformations, but Trump, who, according to her, on the air identified those responsible for world problems and withdrew the United States from international organizations and treaties.
