At the moment, passengers will be able to use high-speed Internet connection in the tunnels of four of the five lines of the St. Petersburg metro. The equipment was installed in partnership with the Chinese company Huawei, its capacity allows, after permission, to switch to the 5G standard. Now network users in the metro can use VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology, which provides high-quality voice transmission, and also allows you to simultaneously talk and use mobile 4G.
Before the start of the project to create a network in tunnels, operators' services covered all stations, lobbies, escalators and crossings of the St. Petersburg metro.
