The cargo was designated as intended for other countries, but in fact was delivered to the aggressor state.
Two Finnish companies exported sanctioned military goods, which ended up in Russia. Among them are drones and electronics.
This was reported on the Finnish customs website.
In total, more than 30 cases of export or attempted export of sanctioned goods, including microcontrollers and semiconductor devices, were identified. Customs suspects that these goods, worth more than 600 thousand euros, ended up in Russia.
In addition, customs suspects that nearly 3,500 unmanned aerial vehicles or drones have ended up in Russia. The products were cleared through customs for export to another country. The drones cost more than two million euros.
The same criminal proceedings also involve suspicion of the transit to Kazakhstan of equipment for stopping drones, related to military equipment. The transit of products, which took place in the spring of 2023, would have required a permit for the transit of military equipment, but the company in question did not apply for such a permit. Customs suspects that these goods, worth a total of 350 thousand euros, also ended up in Russia.
Both companies are associated with the same person and collaborate closely. One of them was engaged in the purchase of sanctioned products, the other was in the shipment of goods to Russia.
There are six people suspected of committing the crime, one of whom has been detained since September of this year. Consideration of charges in the case will take place in December 2023.
Recall that the leaders of the EU countries agreed on the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. It may relate to the export of welding machines, chemicals, defense technology and software licensing.
