Lebanese Hezbollah group fired at Israel “as a sign of solidarity” with the Palestinians
The Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah said it fired rockets and mortars at Israel “as a sign of solidarity” with the Palestinians. The Israel Defense Forces responded by attacking Lebanon with artillery and drones.

Hezbollah said it fired “dozens of rockets and shells” at three Israeli positions in the disputed Mount Dov area “in solidarity” with Hamas' attack on Israel.

Hezbollah was formed in response to the Israeli occupation of Lebanon in 1982. As a political party, Hezbollah now has 14 representatives in the Lebanese parliament. The group also almost completely controls the southern part of Lebanon.
Hamas attack on Israel
On the morning of October 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is in a state of war.
Senior Hamas military commander Mohammad Deif said Hamas fired more than 5,000 rockets at Israel in the so-called operation “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
Militants of the Hamas terrorist group captured several dozen hostages in Israel, including civilians and military personnel. Some of them have already been released from the canteen in Be'eri.
The Israel Defense Forces also announced a closed zone in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military said that entry into the closed area will now be strictly prohibited, and the supply of electricity, fuel and goods there will also be cut off.
