Patients with COVID-19 may experience bruising on the body under certain conditions. Hematologist Pavel Trakhtman spoke about this to Sputnik radio.
According to him, coronavirus often affects blood vessels and leads to increased blood clotting, so doctors prescribe anticoagulants to thin the blood for many patients. The doctor explained that sometimes anticoagulant therapy can be excessive and cause bruising or bruising on the patient's body. If such a symptom appears, you should immediately contact your doctor so that he adjusts his appointments.
In addition, Trachtman said that in general, the appearance of bruises that cannot be explained by a blow or injury usually indicates a circulatory problem, not necessarily related to the coronavirus. He noted that this is a very formidable sign that may indicate a serious illness.
Earlier, scientists at the Polish Medical University of Bialystok named the gene, the presence of which poses the greatest danger to humans, since it more than doubles the risk of a severe form of COVID-19. It is noted that approximately eight to ten percent of Russians have it.
