Hematologist spoke about contraindications for donating blood
Hematologist of the Center for the Study of the Liver of the RUDN University, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nikolai Stuklov told who cannot be a donor, reports Moscow 24.
The hematologist noted that the body will be able to function normally, provided that a person donates blood no more than three times a year. In addition, Stuklov does not recommend donation to women, since they have physiological blood loss.
Also, donation is contraindicated for children and persons whose weight is below 60 kilograms. Persons with chronic diseases are not allowed to donate blood.
Those who wish to become donors should eat meat food and adhere to a healthy lifestyle, avoiding infectious diseases.
The specialist also emphasized that there is a proven benefit from donation for a person, since after a while the body adapts to the loss of blood.
Let's remind that in Russia on April 20 they celebrate the Day of the Donor. Earlier, a poll by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) showed that since 2008 the number of blood donors in Russia has increased from 36% to 45%.
