Serious crash in qualifying at Spa! Lando Norris took off on the Eau Rouge in the rain. The Briton was unharmed.
In Q1 and Q2, Norris set the pole position with the fastest lap, but the serious crash followed in Q3.
The rain in Spa got worse and worse, but we drove anyway. Shortly before the accident, Sebastian Vettel requested an abortion via radio that it was too dangerous.
The German should be right, in the Eau Rouge Norris lost the car and crashed hard into the wall. Vettel stopped to inquire about the health of Norris, who showed the thumbs up.
“So unnecessary, what did I tell you,” Vettel grumbled towards race director Michael Masi. Norris was able to get out of the car himself, only holding his elbow. The session was canceled.
