A powerful heat wave has hit Europe, with Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Greece sounding the alarm.
Europe is experiencing abnormally hot weather. Spain records a record 46°C, France is on alert.
The Guardian writes about this.
Almost all of France is under heightened meteorological observation. According to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, extreme heat is no longer a rarity, but the new norm.
Southern European countries Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Greece are experiencing their first major heatwave of the year, with authorities warning of health risks and mobilising rescuers to prevent forest fires.

More than 50 thousand people were evacuated due to fires in the country.
Portugal and Spain hit record temperatures
The Portuguese town of Mora recorded 46.6°C, possibly setting a new June record.
In Spain, the city of El Granado recorded 46°C, breaking the 1965 record.
In France and Italy, there is anxiety and people are hospitalized
88% of France's regions are on orange alert, the first time this has happened in the country's history.

Britain eyes record temperatures
Temperatures in the country are expected to reach 34°C, which will cause discomfort, in particular, for participants in festivals and open events.
What the experts say about the weather
Experts say extreme heat is especially dangerous in cities due to the “urban heat island” effect. Doctors urge people to drink more water, wear light clothing, avoid heat, and take care of vulnerable people.
Researchers estimate that extreme heat will kill between 8,000 and 80,000 people in Europe each year by the end of the century.
“The planet is getting hotter and more dangerous. And no one is safe,” the UN Secretary General added.
Let us remind you that summer heat awaits Ukrainians too. Forecasters have told whether we should really expect an abnormal increase in air temperature.
