A heart transplant survivor from Shechem, County Durham, England, found an unusual way to thank and support the donor's family. Reported by the Daily Record.

Several years ago, at that time, 12-year-old Kaylee Llewellyn was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, as a result of which blood circulation throughout the body is impaired, which can lead to death. Doctors prescribed a heart transplant operation to the British woman. 19-year-old Sinead Bree became her donor.

The transplant was successful, and Llewellyn admitted that she is very grateful to Sinead for her heart and now lives for the two of them. The teenager began a correspondence with the girl's relatives, and after a while she met with them personally. On the eve of Christmas, the British woman came up with an unusual gift for the donor's family: a plush toy in the shape of an elephant with a built-in mechanism with a recording of Bree's heartbeat.

Llewellyn noted that she made it her mission to raise awareness about organ donation after the incident and hopes that her story will encourage other people to sign up as donors.

Earlier it was reported that the father of a child who died from a lightning strike donated his organs to save three children. “Now thanks to him, three other children will be able to live on; he always told us that he wants to help people if there is an opportunity, so we are convinced that becoming a donor is what he would like, ”said the man.
