A 28-year-old Indian man named Rakesh Kumar Nagar died after headphones exploded in his ear.
The explosion, of course, damaged the victim's ears. The man also lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. However, he died there. The doctor suggested that the victim “probably died of cardiac arrest” caused by an unexpected and shocking explosion.
It looks like Nagar was using the earbuds while they were plugged into a smartphone that was charging. The source writes that before the incident, the lights in the room suddenly went out. When the lighting was restored, the earpiece in the ear exploded. Perhaps the explosion was due to the poor quality of the device and a power surge.
It is not known what brand the headphones were. However, someone said that such devices can be bought cheaply at a gas station.
