In the Vinnitsa region, a previously convicted 42-year-old man mocked a pensioner. He attacked a 73-year-old grandmother, tried to strangle her, raped her and took away her last savings .
According to the National Police, the pensioner's daughter reported the crime. She said that an unknown person attacked her mother, almost took her life and took away the last 3 thousand hryvnias.
The woman was able to describe the perpetrator. The police detained the suspect in the center of Tulchin an hour after the attack.
The attacker previously served a criminal sentence for property crimes. He was last behind bars for five years for theft and misappropriation of a vehicle.
The 42-year-old man was taken into custody. The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 152 (Rape) and part 3 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect will be in custody – the court granted the petition of the investigators. A man can go to prison for 12 years with possible confiscation of property.
