Artemy Ryabchuk, who shot people at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipro on January 27, during the first interrogation admitted that he was in a state of confusion and anger, but soon retracted his testimony, said Alexei Sukhachev, director of the State Bureau of Investigation , at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on law enforcement activities.

– During interrogation, the suspect explained that he began his military service in the specified unit at the end of October 2021. According to him, the crime was committed on the basis of hazing in the form of psychological pressure on him from senior conscription soldiers, which began at the end of November 2021 and lasted until the moment the crime was committed,” the director of the SBI specified.

This was manifested in a dismissive attitude and harassment, as well as forcing to work during rest, which depleted the body.

– The suspect also explained that directly at the time of the crime, he was in such an emotional state as clouding of consciousness, anger, which limited his awareness of the actions that he committed. These circumstances will be checked during a psychological and psychiatric examination,” Sukhachev said.

At the same time, Ryabchuk himself denied the use of any physical violence against him. And they didn't really find any injuries on his body. He was also sober at the time of the crime, which was confirmed by the examination.

The director of the State Bureau of Investigation noted that on February 3 the suspect changed his lawyer and retracted all the evidence provided before.

According to him, investigators are considering three versions of the tragedy at Yuzhmash , the main one is hazing.

The second is the mental state of Ryabchuk, and the third is the possible commission of a crime on behalf of foreign special services in order to discredit the law enforcement system of Ukraine.

The basis for considering the latest versions, as Sukhachev noted, was that Ryabchuk was in Russia in 2019 for two weeks.
