He is going to get out of the trap: the expert explained why Lukashenka visits China

Lukashenka will ask for China's patronage both in the military and economic spheres, the expert believes.

Political scientist Andrei Vigirinsky believes that Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko flew to China to meet with Xi Jinping in order to “get out of the trap” he fell into.

The political scientist said this on Channel 24.

According to Vigirinsky, Lukashenka has no interest in the successful completion of the war by Russia , since the consequences of participating in the war as an ally of Russia will be catastrophic for him.

“If Lukashenka negotiates military cooperation with China and Russia in Beijing, his situation will worsen even more,” the expert stressed, noting that Beijing's decision would most likely be negative.

“This will cancel out all China's attempts last week: inviting a coalition of Western countries to dialogue, theses about avoiding unilateral sanctions and respect for territorial integrity. As a superpower of global politics, one cannot, on the one hand, invite peace and dialogue, and on the other hand, do like the ones you accuse,” he explained.

Also, according to the expert, Lukashenka will ask for China's patronage, since he does not have special levers of influence on the Kremlin, and he urgently needs sales markets. It is China, and not Russia, that is the country around which they unite, the political scientist noted.

“To whom are you going to ask for protection in front of a conditional middle brother, what is Russia for Belarus? To an older brother, this older brother is China,” the expert stressed.

Vigirinskiy added that Lukashenka is going to China for investments because he needs a financial market.

Recall that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday, February 28, arrived in China. There he is to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
