In Odessa, a drunk driver hit a patrol officer and tried to escape from the scene of the incident. He had to be stopped with the use of weapons.

This was reported in the press center of the Odessa Region Patrol Police.

The incident took place on Thursday morning, December 30. Law enforcement officers received information that on Akademika Korolev Street a drunk man is driving a car.

Patrol police found and stopped this car. However, the driver refused to respond to the demands of law enforcement officers and closed himself inside the vehicle.

According to the police, he had signs of alcohol intoxication.

Subsequently, the driver tried to escape from the scene of the incident and hit a patrolman .

Then the police were forced to use weapons, since the man did not react to the demands to stop. One of the patrolmen fired several shots at the wheels of the car.

– According to Art. 46 of the Law of Ukraine On the National Police (Use of Firearms), the inspector fired several shots at the wheels of the car. Thus, it was possible to stop the vehicle, & # 8212; noted by the police.

The unfortunate driver refused to be tested for alcohol intoxication both on the spot and in a medical facility. The patrol officers drew up a report on him under Part 1 of Art. 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Driving while intoxicated).

Now all circumstances of the incident are being investigated by investigators.
