A 50-year-old man was detained in the Khmelnytsky region for beating his comrade. He faces up to eight years behind bars.
The incident took place on December 26 in the village of Sudilkov, Shepetovsky district. The man invited a friend over for dinner, after which they began to drink vodka.
During the conversation, the 55-year-old guest began an argument with the owner of the house. The man could not resist and attacked a friend with an electric kettle.
He beat the guest until he lost consciousness. After that, the owner put the kettle on to the place and went to bed, leaving the friend in the kitchen.
Fortunately, the victim regained consciousness and ran away from the friend's house. A neighbor called an ambulance for him.
What the doctors say
A 55-year-old man was hospitalized in a nearby hospital in serious condition. As of December 28, he is in intensive care.
Doctors found on the victim's body numerous fractures and bruises of the head and ribs.
Given this, the blows could have been inflicted not only with a kettle, but also with feet or other foreign objects.
The owner of the house was detained
When the police visited the victim's 50-year-old villager, it was not difficult to identify traces of the crime.
On the kitchen table stood a kettle covered with the blood of his comrade. The owner did not object to the complete misfortune.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man has already been placed in a pre-trial detention center. In the near future he will be elected a preventive measure.
For severe beating of a comrade, he faces from five to eight years in prison.
