A 46-year-old man who killed the parents of his ex-girlfriend will be tried in Zaporozhye. He could face life imprisonment.
The incident happened in August last year. According to the investigation, the suspect came to the pensioners' house without an invitation.
The husband and wife refused to let the ex-daughter in, and then he took a knife out of his pocket. First, he attacked a 69-year-old man, after which he dealt with a 70-year-old woman.
As a result of numerous stab wounds, pensioners died on the spot. Whether their daughter was in the apartment that evening is not reported.
What threatens the killer
Law enforcement officers detained a 46-year-old man on the same evening, two hours after the crime was committed.
During interrogation, he stated that he had committed a double murder due to constant conflicts with the ex-girlfriend's family.
The murder weapon – a bloody kitchen knife – was confiscated by law enforcement officers during priority investigative actions.
Criminal proceedings were opened under paragraphs. 1, 4 h. 2 tbsp. 115 (Deliberate murder of two persons, committed with special cruelty) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The verdict has already been sent to court. For the committed 46-year-old man faces ten to fifteen years behind bars or life imprisonment.
