“I am proud that President Biden supported my candidacy. I intend to earn the nomination as a presidential candidate,” she noted in in his first public statement since Biden's stunning announcement.
Harris promised to do everything in her power to unite the Democratic Party and the American nation – “to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme 2025 project.”

“With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done during his lifetime of service: putting the American people and our country first,” Harris said.
She noted that there were 107 days left before Election Day, “a very short period of time to consolidate support for your party.”
“Together we will fight. And together we will win,” concluded Kamala Harris.
According to the publication, the main benefactor of the Biden-Harris election campaign says that donors are ready to support Harris' candidacy for president.
Recall that United States President Joe Biden officially announced his withdrawal from the election race on the evening of July 21. He asks to support Kamala Harris in his place.
US House Speaker Mike Jones, representing Republicans, said that Democrats' attempt to nominate another US presidential candidate instead of Joe Biden could lead to legal problems.
Previously, the media suggested that Biden might withdraw his candidacy from the election due to health conditions and pressure from sponsors who questioned his competency due to his age.
The pressure on Biden increased from party members after his failure at the debate with Trump, as well as a series of subsequent embarrassments. In particular, when introducing Ukrainian President Zelensky to the public, Biden called him “Putin”, and subsequently called Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump”
