A Hamas statement said the movement's leader was killed in a “treacherous Zionist attack on his residence in Tehran.”

In another statement, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said: “We are investigating the scope of the incident of Haniyeh's martyrdom in Tehran.”

They promised to announce the results of the investigation later.

It is noted that Ismail Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the elected president of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.
