Hackers reported hacking Apple supplier

by alex

The hacker group REvil, also known as Sodinokibi, said on its darknet site that it had infiltrated the computer network of a key supplier Apple, Bloomberg reports. We are talking about Quanta Computer Inc. The hackers wrote that they had stolen blueprints for Apple's latest products and demanded a ransom.

Quanta acknowledged the attack without specifying how much of the data was stolen. The company contacted law enforcement and did not pay the ransom.

The day before, when Apple presented its new products, REvil published diagrams of the new laptop, including 15 images detailing its internal structure. REvil asked Apple to pay the ransom by May 1st. Until then, the hackers intend to continue to publish new files every day.

Bloomberg notes that REvil tried to launch buyout negotiations with Quanta last week by posting messages on its darknet site about encrypting corporate network data. The hackers demanded $ 50 million for the decryption key.

On the eve of Apple introduced the first models of iPad Pro tablets and the new iMac on its own processors M1, as well as trackers AirTag and iPhone 12 in purple.

Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Apple tucked into the tablets M1”.
