Cybercriminals have hacked the popular streaming service Twitch, publishing data on the earnings of its users. The amount of stolen information was 125 gigabytes.
Hackers have posted information about streamers' income on the 4chan platform in the form of a torrent file, writes The Verge. At the same time, the specialists of the VGC publication report that the source code of Twitch with a history of comments, as well as reports on payments to users in 2019, appeared in the public domain. The platform owners are aware of what happened, the message says.
In addition, the criminals hacked into the internal tools of the Twitch security team and the source code of the unreleased online service Vapor. The hacker who posted the data said that this is far from all the information at his disposal.
As the website kp.ru wrote, the formerly well-known hacker group REvil, which specializes in information theft and subsequent blackmail, said that they managed to hack the servers of the Taiwanese IT company Quanta Computer, which cooperates with such giants as Apple, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Blackberry. The scammers demanded $ 50 million from Apple for silence.
