Experts have discovered vulnerabilities in Cosori air fryers, the exploitation of which can ruin the dish. In particular, hackers can remotely change the temperature in the device.
Two vulnerabilities were discovered in deep fryers that allow remote code execution, writes SecurityLab.ru. The fact is that these devices – the Cosori Smart Air Fryer – can be connected to Wi-Fi. Through the network, users can turn the fryer on and off, find recipes and monitor the cooking process.
But with the help of vulnerabilities, hackers can execute malicious code and change the temperature, cooking time and device settings. The fryer can be turned on remotely without the knowledge of the owner.
The manufacturer has not yet released a fix for the vulnerabilities, so it is possible that someone will take advantage of them.
