Ferdinand Habsburg celebrated a class win at the Le Mans 24 Hours on Sunday. The Austrian debutant won the LMP2 category together with Robin Frijns and Charles Miles. However, the trio benefited from the failure of Oreca colleagues Robert Kubica, Louis Deletraz and Ye Yifei, whose car stopped shortly before the finish. Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez, Kamui Kobayashi won the Hypercars for the first time and Toyota for the fourth time in a row.

The Swiss Sebastien Buemi and the Japanese Kazuki Nakajima, who had been successful over the past three years and this time were supported by former Formula 1 driver Brendon Hartley from New Zealand, also finished second with Toyota. At the finish, the two dominant factory Toyotas separated two laps. In third place, the French Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere, together with the Brazilian Andre Negrao in the Alpine A480, were four laps behind the winners. The Habsburg team ended up eight laps back in sixth place overall.
