Marcel Hirscher on his enduro bike.
Marcel Hirscher scrapes in the starting blocks. After an enduro crash and a broken leg, he can't wait to get back on his motorcycle.
After the fall, Marcel Hirscher wants to get back on the saddle as quickly as possible. The Annaberg broke his left leg in a crash on an enduro rally. Anyone who thinks he would shy away from his machine is wrong.
The Austrian ski legend has been training for weeks and even rides his mountain bike with his removable cast. His management said “Today” in mid-August: “Nothing stands in the way of the ski season.” With a wink, of course. The 32-year-old has ruled out a comeback in the World Cup several times.
At the moment he feels right at home, especially on two wheels. The mountain bike will soon give way to the motorcycle again. Hirscher posts a snapshot from the summer, taken before his injury. In the picture he is racing through the terrain with his bare torso and front wheel up, letting the muddy water splash. Two years after his resignation, his tense muscles impressively prove the fitness of the double Olympic champion.
Hirscher: “I miss action like this. But I'll be back on the bike soon.”
Ski star Christof Innerhofer can be found among the first comments on Instagram. The South Tyrolean asks: “Or maybe back on the skis soon?” Innerhofer obviously wants the former World Cup dominator to make a comeback. Since his resignation, however, he has been enjoying the new opportunities he has gained. The passion for horsepower sport should be great.
Only privately things don't go as desired for Hirscher. At the end of July, he announced the separation from his wife Laura after twelve years of relationship. The two have two children together.
