Simone Biles wants to know again! After not starting because of psychological problems, she announces her Olympic comeback.
Good news for all gymnastics fans! Simone Biles wants to compete in the balance beam final on Tuesday. Most recently, the superstar from the USA had given up several medal chances due to a psychological blockage. In 2016, Biles had won three gold medals. At that time she was doing Olympic bronze meditation on the balance beam.
Simone Biles had withdrawn from the ongoing team final last week after an unsuccessful performance at the jump. She was then replaced by a substitute gymnast. “It's just annoying when you fight with your own head,” said 24-year-old Biles, triggering a wave of sympathy on social media. Those who take part in the Olympics, she said, are “not just athletes, at the end of the day we are human.” She also said, “I have to focus on my mental health. We have to protect my body and mind.”
