The head of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, announced plans to register the children's version of the coronavirus vaccine by September 15 without the third phase of trials. Currently, two versions of the drug are being investigated: diluted at a concentration of 1:10 and 1: 5. In the second option, temperatures up to 37.5 ° C are observed.
“The first shows that there are absolutely no side effects, and at the same time, children have a very strong immune response, unlike adults. And 1: 5 also has no special side effects, but there is a temperature in the range of 37.5 ° C, ”Mr. Gintsburg told Izvestia. Now tests are being carried out on children from 12 to 17 years old. In case of successful research, it will be possible to move on to the group under 12 years of age. “I would take an interval of 6–12 years,” added Alexander Gunzburg.

He noted that children will go to schools during the spread of the “Indian strain”. “And by September 20, there may be problems first for the children, and then for all of us,” he explained.
The Gamaleya Center is a developer of Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines. The creators of another vaccine, EpiVacCorona, believe that it is not necessary to vaccinate children, because they are easier to tolerate the disease.
