Gunzburg spoke about the mutations of the coronavirus in Russia
Original variants of coronavirus mutations are observed in Moscow, scientists are studying their properties and differences from other strains. This was stated by the director of the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gamaleya Alexander Gintsburg, RIA Novosti reports.
“The fact that in our country, and in Moscow in particular, as in other countries, there are original variants of virus mutations, that's for sure. We are now studying their properties and differences from other circulating strains,” he said.
Previously, Deputy Director of the Center. Gamalei Denis Logunov did not rule out the appearance of new specific strains in Moscow.
Over the past day, 14,723 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia. 16.1% of them had no clinical manifestations of the disease, 357 cases were fatal, and 9166 people recovered.
