Director of the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after V.I. Gamaleya of the Ministry of Health of Russia Alexander Gintsburg is confident in the high effectiveness of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine among animals.
“The Sputnik V vaccine can protect well against coronavirus and animals, but people must first be vaccinated,” RIA Novosti quoted Gintsburg as saying.
He clarified that animals should be vaccinated not only to protect them, but also to stop the circulation of the virus between humans and animals.
Gunzburg emphasized that the Sputnik V vaccine was tested in the center of Gamaleya on animals and it showed its effectiveness well.
Gunzburg previously warned of the spread of COVID-19 among animals.
