Russian commentator Dmitry Guberniev in his Telegram channel named the reason for the mass withdrawal of biathletes from the Izhevsk rifle tournament.

“The real reason for the dismissal of biathletes from the competition at the end of December is simple, but very important – accounting. The coach is obliged to report to the organization that sent him and the athletes on a business trip. That's all!” – wrote Guberniev.
