The sixth round of the English Premier League awaits on Saturday (1.30 p.m.) with the hit between table leaders Chelsea and champions Manchester City. With a win, ManCity not only wants to catch up with the “Blues” in terms of points, but also want to take revenge for the lost Champions League final around four months ago.
Chelsea have shown themselves in impressive form so far, having won four of their first five games of the season. There was also a draw at Liverpool, in which Thomas Tuchel's team played one half outnumbered. Since the German took over in London in January, Chelsea has won every game against City – in the league, in the FA Cup and in Europe's premier league. The rival, however, started with a defeat at Tottenham, most recently they had to be satisfied with a draw at home against Ralph Hasenhüttls Southampton and are thus three points each behind Chelsea, Liverpool and city rivals United.
Liverpool face away from the surprisingly strong promoted Brentford, who has eight points. It is the first upper house duel between the two teams since 1947. United goes to Aston Villa, had previously to digest the league cup against West Ham on Wednesday. United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spared top star Cristiano Ronaldo, who would like to meet in the third league game after his return to Manchester on Saturday.
Goalie Daniel Bachmann's Watford, eleventh in the table with six points, will meet stragglers Newcastle at home on Saturday. Southampton host in the Table 15 duel on Sunday. with the -16. Wolverhampton, aiming for their first win of the season after four straight draws. Most recently, they gained self-confidence with a 0-0 win against ManCity and the rise in the League Cup, even if the latter was only secured in the penalty shoot-out against second division Sheffield United. Wolverhampton has lost seven out of eight games across the seasons.
