“Guarantee of Peace”: Russian Orthodox Church Announces Nuclear Weapons to Be Blessed

by alex

An influential priest of the Russian Orthodox Church called nuclear weapons a “guarantor of peace”.

The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) stated that it can bless nuclear weapons.

This was stated in an interview Archpriest Konstantin Tatarintsev, who holds the position of First Deputy Head of the Synodal Department for Interaction with the Armed Forces in the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as Head of the Sector for Interaction with the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation, told propaganda media.

He called nuclear weapons “a guarantor of peace.”

“Nuclear weapons have enormous destructive power. Therefore, on the one hand, one could assume that it is unacceptable to sanctify something that sows death. But on the other hand, it is a weapon of deterrence, so that those who have it do not use it against us, that is, it is a guarantor of peace. And in this sense, it is quite acceptable to consecrate it not so that it would be used for its intended purpose, but would give exactly this effect – a guarantee of peace,” the ROC priest cynically stated.

Recall that according to the results of a social survey, every third Russian approves of a nuclear strike on Ukraine.
