Greece should immediately receive the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. This is stated on the front page of one of the largest newspapers in the country “Dimokratia”.
“Take Sputnik right now (…). The Germans are already running, and we are sleeping, “RIA Novosti quoted the newspaper as saying.
The article says that the authorities of European countries want to get the Russian drug as soon as possible, since it is “much safer, more effective and easier to use” others. The authors emphasize that German, French and Spanish ministers have already supported Sputnik V.
“This is the only hope to save the summer and avoid a fiasco,” the authors conclude. The agency notes that Greece hopes to vaccinate most of the population by the start of the tourist season.
On February 2, the medical journal The Lancet published data that the results of the third phase of clinical trials of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine demonstrated 91.6% effectiveness against coronavirus. 19,866 people took part in testing the vaccine.
