Greece decided to introduce a partial lockdown

The Greek authorities decided to introduce a partial lockdown in the country from November 3 – catering places, museums and theaters are closed for a month. Reported by Reuters.

“The new rules, which take effect at 6 am on Tuesday, are focused on two areas that facilitate the transmission of the virus – entertainment and the movement of citizens,” said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. At the same time, he noted that the work of the industrial sector of the economy, retail trade and schools will not be stopped.

In the first wave of coronavirus, Greece was among the most successful countries in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic due to the authorities' adherence to expert advice and the solidarity of the people. As of October 31, 37 thousand people were infected with the coronavirus in Greece, 620 died, another 1347 were cured. According to the latest data, almost 2 million people died in the world due to a new coronavirus infection, almost 46 million cases of infection were detected, of which 30 million ended in the patient's recovery.
