In the US state of Maryland, a grandmother was sentenced to ten years in prison for allowing her nine-month-old grandson to eat a dose of heroin. Reported by the Associated Press.
The 44-year-old American woman was charged with manslaughter and child abuse.
According to the investigation, in July 2019, the woman and her 17-year-old daughter bought four doses of heroin. Noticing the loss of one of them, the women wondered if the child had eaten it. This idea was prompted by the fact that the baby began to wheeze.
However, the relatives did not attach any importance to this and went to bed. The kid died at the same time. A month ago, charges were dropped from the 17-year-old daughter of the defendant.
In late August, it was reported that a nine-year-old disabled child in St. Petersburg was poisoned with ethanol after his mother threw a house party with her common-law husband. The couple used alcohol and drugs, and the child was left unattended.
