Goznak launched an online service to search for missing pets

Goznak has launched a free online service for intelligently searching for pets using artificial intelligence technology, TASS reports.

The service is called Luck's Tail and is aimed at finding lost cats and dogs. The message says that the Russian Cynological Federation is the consultant and information partner of the project. The creators of the project claim that 1.8 million people can become its audience.

The program will recognize and combine animal images in photos from lost and found pet ads. So, the user posts on the site information about the disappearance of the pet, as well as when and where it disappeared. Further, the artificial intelligence automatically scans the ad base, if the image of the missing animal matches the image of the found one, the system will notify the user about this. According to Goznak, the recognition accuracy that the service demonstrates today exceeds 97% for dogs and 96.5% for cats.

This service is free, anyone can use it by going through a simple registration procedure. Shelters can also use the service by posting information about animals that are waiting for their owners.

After the pet is found, the ads associated with it will be removed from public view. At the moment, the service is planned to be developed on the basis of the mobile version.

Earlier it was reported that Roskomnadzor decided to block six more VPN services that violated Russian law.

These are Hola! VPN, ExpressVPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, Nord VPN, Speedify VPN and IPVanish VPN.

The ministry stressed that the use of blocking bypass services leads to “preservation of access to prohibited information and resources, creates conditions for illegal activities, including those related to the distribution of drugs, child pornography, extremism and suicidal tendencies.”
