The last leader of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, responded positively to the question of the involvement of Western elites in the collapse of the Soviet Union. He spoke about this in an interview to Interfax, which was published on Friday, December 24.
According to him, even before the collapse of the unified state, the Kremlin had information that in the highest echelons of power in Western countries “there were people who rubbed their hands, seeing our difficulties.”
