Google Laptops Stopped Working Due to a Programmer's Typo

The latest Chrome OS update 91.0.4472.147 found a bug that prevented some users from using their Chromebooks. The problem was caused by a typo in the code.

And the mistake was the missing ampersand (“&” sign). The fact is that in the Cryptohome VaultKeyset code, in the conditional construction, one ampersand was written instead of “&&”, which is the logical operator “AND” in the C ++ programming language. Due to this error, Chrome OS was unable to verify user passwords, resulting in some people being unable to log in.

Google has already promised to release an update with a bug fix. While the affected devices can be launched through guest mode or an account that was not logged in.
