Google has finally released a fresh version of its browser – Chrome 90. Among other smaller innovations, it has one main thing. We are talking about the transition to the secure HTTPS protocol as a standard.
The first talk about this innovation appeared at the end of March. That's when insiders discovered that Google was preparing a massive move from HTTP to HTTPS in Chrome. Now, with the release of the 90th version of the browser, it finally happened, writes SlashGear.
Representatives of the search giant said that now absolutely all sites will open immediately in a protected form. This will not only help users stay safe, but also speed up the loading of the sites themselves. The thing is that many resources have long been “transferring” visitors to their HTTPS versions, spending time on this. Now there will be no more such senseless “slowdown”.
