Golikova: there are no cases of infection with the Delta Plus coronavirus strain in Russia
In the Russian Federation, no cases of infection with a variety of the Indian strain of the coronavirus “Delta Plus” have been identified, TASS reports, referring to the statement of the country's Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova at a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with members of the Cabinet.
She recalled that isolated cases of such a mutation had previously been recorded in India.
“Seven sequences of this variant,“ Delta Plus ”, have already been deposited in five countries – the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Nepal and Bostwana. We don't have it yet, ”Golikova said.
We will remind, earlier, Indian scientists announced the extreme infectiousness of the new strain of the coronavirus “Delta Plus”. It was noted that for infection, it is enough to walk past an infected person without a mask. In addition, the country's authorities are concerned about the resistance of the new strain to monoclonal antibodies and its ability to “bypass” immunity.
