Bologna defeated Salernitana 3-2 at the start of the Serie A season – Arnautovic with first goal in the Italian league – Juventus only 2-2 at Udinese
Marko Arnautovic celebrated a successful debut for FC Bologna in the Italian football championship. Austria's team striker celebrated his first goal in Serie A on Sunday and a 3-2 home win against Salernitana in a game with three exclusions. The 32-year-old Viennese scored in the 75th minute to equalize 2-2. Lorenzo di Silvestri, who had already scored 1-1 (59th), scored the winning goal a little later (77th).
Arnautovic had played three league games for Inter Milan in the 2009/10 season, and after his return to Serie A, he signed the scorer's list in his first game for Bologna.
After the exclusion of Salernitana defense chief Stefan Strandberg with two yellow cards within a minute (34th) and in the 50th minute, Bologna's Roberto Soriano also had to leave the field with a yellow-red. Federico Bonazzoli used the penalty after his penalty area foul to make it 1-0 for the guests, who took the lead for a second time through Mamadou Coulibaly (70th). Arnautovic and Di Silvestri saved Bologna from a false start. After Arnautovic had been replaced in the 86th minute, Bologna's midfielder Jerdy Schouten had to go into the dressing room prematurely in the finish (88th).
Juventus came at Udinese despite a 2-0 break lead only to a 2-2. A goal from Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo in the 94th minute was denied after studying video because of offside.
