Germany is ready to support Russia's disconnection from the international payment information system SWIFT under “certain conditions”. This is reported by the publication Handelsblatt, citing a source in government circles, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the source of the publication, the exclusion of Russian banks “becomes more and more likely.” The federal government, which has long rejected this sanction, is now ready to do so under certain conditions. According to the publication, an agreement on this between US President Joe Biden and the heads of European governments can be reached “even in the evening.”
Earlier it became known that France was in favor of new measures against Russia. In particular, President Emmanuel Macron advocated the adoption of new measures together with European partners “regarding the SWIFT system.”
