Bundeswehr military in Kunduz
Bundeswehr personnel will leave Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan over the next weeks. About a hundred German soldiers stationed there will travel to the northern headquarters of NATO's Resolute support training mission in Mazar-i-Sharif. This was announced on Tuesday evening, November 24, by a representative of the operational command, in response to a request from the Bild tabloid.
However, he stressed, the withdrawal of the military does not mean that the field camp in Kunduz will cease to operate. If necessary, the German military will be transferred there to train the military personnel of the armed forces of Afghanistan. Previously, German soldiers also advised the Afghan military on counterinsurgency in the province, which has traditionally been a stronghold of the radical Islamist Taliban.
According to dpa, the decision to withdraw the military contingent from Kunduz was made back in the summer by the military leadership of the NATO mission in Kabul. Thus, this step is not related to the statement by US President Donald Trump on the reduction of the American contingent from 4,500 to 2,500 troops.
Earlier, Germany noted that the reduction of the American presence in the region would jeopardize the mission of the Bundeswehr. For example, the German Ministry of Defense warned that if the United States really left only 2,500 military orderlies in Afghanistan, the Bundeswehr would be unable to carry out its mission in this country. A total of 1,200 German troops are currently deployed in Afghanistan.

“I Can't Sleep at Night”: The Price of Peace in Nagorno-Karabakh According to Azerbaijan's assurances, on October 28, 2020, Armenia fired at the city of Barda with banned cluster bombs. At least 20 civilians were killed. Both sides deny the use of such shells, but human rights organizations have confirmed their use. As a result of the peace agreement, the regions occupied by Armenia in the 1990s returned to Azerbaijan. But residents will be able to return here only after the territory is cleared by unexploded ordnance.
