Germany is strengthening its border security to reduce crime and illegal migration.
Germany will introduce controls on its land borders from next week due to a large influx refugees.
This was reported by the German Ministry of the Interior, reports Ukrinform.
Temporary border control is necessary to increase internal security, as well as to reduce illegal migration. It will come into force on September 16, 2024 and will be in force for six months on the borders with France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.
So far, such a king is already in force on the borders with Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland.
“We will extend our temporary internal border controls to all German land borders… We are strengthening internal security with concrete measures and continuing our tough course against illegal migration… This is necessary until we have achieved reliable protection of the EU's external borders with the new Common European Asylum System” and other measures,” Interior Minister Nancy Feser said in commenting on her order.
She noted that such actions will lead to increased protection from Islamic terrorism and cross-border crime. In addition, it will hinder the activities of smugglers.
Recall that it was previously reported that Baerbock criticized Scholz's party for its position on aid to Ukraine.
In addition, we previously reported that Pistorius answered whether Germany had changed its position on strikes deep into Russian territory.
