Germany declares no Russian request for Navalny

The German authorities have stated that there is no Russian request to send investigators to work on the case of Alexei Navalny, Reuters reports.

A spokesman for the German government said that Berlin has not yet received any relevant messages from Moscow.

The fact that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs intends to send an additional request to Germany in connection with the Navalny case became known earlier on 11 September.

Alexei Navalny became ill on the morning of August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, the plane urgently landed in Omsk. On August 22, the oppositionist was taken to a Berlin clinic. On September 7, he came out of a coma, and on September 10 it became known that he completely recovered.

The German authorities announced the poisoning of a Russian citizen with the poison of the Novichok group. Russian doctors claim that the tests did not show the presence of any poisons in Navalny's body.
