Russia is responsible for the growing tension in Europe. This accusation against Moscow was made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, TASS reports.
“Today, a new war threatens in the center of our Europe. The Russian troop build-up is a completely unacceptable threat to Ukraine, but also to all of us and to our peace architecture in Europe,” the German foreign minister said.
She noted that this crisis was formed not around Ukraine, but around Russia. “We urge Russia to immediately withdraw its troops. The first signals were a glimmer of hope, but we must see things now, because the Russian threat is still real, ”Burbock said.
Earlier, she said that the refusal of Russian officials to participate in the Munich Security Conference poses a threat to the peace process, as the European community is deprived of another opportunity to discuss the crisis over Ukraine.
