Alexey Navalny
The German government announced the presence of not one, but several items with traces of “Novichok” in the case of the incident with Alexei Navalny. RIA Novosti reports.
The government also reiterated that the exact composition of the substance allegedly used against Navalny was not disclosed due to the “high risk of proliferation.”
Navalny became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. In the first two days, doctors from the Omsk hospital helped him. They also introduced him to an artificial coma. On August 22, the oppositionist was sent to a clinic in Berlin. The Bundeswehr later announced that it had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body.
On September 17, members of Navalny's team reported that after reports of hospitalization, they returned to his room in a Tomsk hotel, collected all kinds of items there and handed them over to European specialists after he was transported to a Berlin clinic. At the same time, the origin of the water bottle is not completely clear: according to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the bottle that was delivered to Germany was transported by Navalny's ally Maria Pevchikh, but she acquired it after she left Tomsk. The Russian police intend to interview the Singers, but she permanently resides in the UK and does not get in touch with law enforcement agencies.
