Foreign policy expert, Bundestag deputy from the Green party Omid Nuripur, in an interview with Passauer Neue Presse, called the blocking of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline impossible. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“I no longer see many opportunities to prevent it, even if I still think that the project is wrong,” the FRG parliamentarian said, explaining that all the fundamental decisions have already been made, therefore it is impossible to disrupt the launch of the pipeline by such methods.

In addition, Naripur stressed that if the gas pipeline complies with the legislation, it will be put into operation.

On December 29, a representative of the German Ministry of Economy, Susanna Ungrad, said that she could not tell about the exact timing of the launch of the SP-2 gas pipeline. “The operating permit has already been received. It's about certification. The Federal Network Agency [FRG] is responsible for this, ”Ungrad said.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, in turn, on December 29 called the end of the first half of 2022 the maximum deadline for completing the certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
