The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Germany Steffen Hebeshtreit at a briefing said that Germany is ready for any negotiations with Russia in order to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine. TASS reports.

“In principle, the situation is as follows: in view of the questions that Russia is raising, we want to facilitate de-escalation and are ready for any negotiations,” Hebeshtreit said. In his opinion, future negotiations should be held at the expert level in order to clarify all the details of the current situation.

The representative of the Bundestag added that Germany and France intend to clarify in the “Normandy format” all issues that arise in relations between Ukraine and Russia. The heads of state agreed on this at the recent talks in Brussels.

On December 22, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the first round of talks between Russia and the United States on security guarantees will start at the very beginning of 2022. The minister noted that there is an agreement between Washington and Moscow to use three tracks of negotiations. He named the business reaction of his American colleagues.
