The economy in Germany is likely to develop weaker than last predicted because of the corona lockdown, says the head of economic activity. Lars Feld told German newspapers that the prognosis of the Council of Economic Experts for 2021 would “probably have to be revised downwards somewhat”. However, it could still be a three before the decimal point, as the Bundesbank recently expected.
For the year 2021, the German Council of Economic Experts has predicted GDP growth of 3.7 percent. According to his own information, Feld assumes a lockdown even after January 10th.
